The Palos Verdes
Peninsula 4-H is located in the Los Angeles County in Palos Verdes, CA and
serves the youth of Rolling Hills Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Palos Verdes
Estates, Rolling Hills, San Pedro and all other cities in the Los Angeles area.
The club is over 120 youth members strong and is one of the largest clubs in all
of Los Angeles County. Not only are we one of the biggest, but we feel that we
are one of the BEST! We are a very active club with strong parent volunteers who
dedicate many hours of their own time to our youth members. These dedicated
volunteers allow us to offer a long list of 4-H projects to suit just about
anyone's interest.
The club
“community meeting” is the third Wednesday of each month at the City of Rolling
Hills Estates City Hall (Download the Mapquest Map HERE.)
Meeting time is 7:00 PM and Recreation begins at 6:45 PM, and meetings usually
last about 1 hour. Several meetings throughout the year may include special
events, such as a club recognition dinner and more...
Individual
project meetings usually meet once per month in addition to the main community
meeting. Project meeting date and times vary, depending on the project leader's
discretion. For a complete list of projects offered, please view the Club
Leaders page. If the project you were looking for isn't there, how about
volunteering your time and experience to lead one!
The official
4-H program year begins July 1st and ends the following June 30th, however
operationally most clubs begin the new program year activities in September and
culminate in September with the Los Angeles County Fair, where many members show
their livestock and display their projects. There is also a Spring Fair in April
where members can participate in project presentations and livestock
showmanship. Throughout the year, the club is involved in several community
service projects such as visiting the elderly and serving Christmas Eve/Day
dinner to the needy during the holidays.
